Spring break has already come to the end.
Compared to the past two spring break, I did something special this year. I took
a graduation trip to Thailand!!! It is my third time to go abroad, and it is
the first time for me to have a self-help travel. There were so many
interesting I experience; therefore, I would like to share something about
Thailand and hope you would enjoy it.
I believe that enjoying local delicacies
plays an pivotal role in most people’s trip; therefore I would like to
introducing some food I ate in Thailand.
Breakfast
As a rice-oriented country, there is no
doubt traditionally, Thai people eat rice for their lunch and dinner. However,
when it comes to breakfast, you may as curious as I am about what do they eat
for breakfast. According to my observation, breakfast stores in Thailand are
not as common as in Taiwan, but I still could find some, and I divided them
into three categories: vendors, breakfast restaurants, bakeries and convenient
stores.
Vendors
Vendors are ubiquitous in Thailand. Walking
on the street in Pataya and Bangkok, I can see a variety of vendors offering
roast meat, fruit, beverages, pha, etc. Also, there are vendors selling
breakfast. The breakfast I ate at first day is pig pluck congee. The vendor was
near the hotel I lived, there is a big pot filled with congee with some
ingredient such as pig pluck, green onion and ginger, and seasonings beside it.
The owner put pig pluck and an raw egg in a bowl, and then scooped up the congee
to top up the bowl. Afraid of have diarrhoea, I told the owner that I don’t
want an egg. The congee was stew for a long time, so it is hard to see the rice
clearly in the bowl.
Beside the congee vendor, there is a vendor
serving fried bread stick and soy bean milk which are also similar to
traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Nevertheless, they are still different. Unlike
Taiwanese fried bread stick, that in Thailand is not so crunchy but more chewy;
Taiwanese one is hollow while Thai one is concrete.

I have read an article before, saying that Thailand is also called the land of smiles due to their welcoming nature. Is that true~~?
To be honest, I only have a small understanding of Thailand. For example, the Buddhist culture and the famous Thai monarch. I am looking forward to your other introduction of Thailand in the following articles! To me, Thailand seems to be a mysterious country~~~
The flavor of the pig pluck congee is special, but still delicious.
刪除As you mentioned above, Thailand is the land of smiles. Most of Thai people are kind and passionate; however, you still have to be careful if you are in Thailand. My friends and I have met someone try to cheat us.
I went to Thailand in the summer vacation. I also find that the breakfast stores in Thailand are not as many as ones in Taiwán. However, their vendors sell many special dishes. Their Thai milk tea tastes good. It is very common in the Thailand 's Street. The roast pork tastes good, too. It is also common in Thailand.
回覆刪除I agree with you. The roast pork and chicken served by the vendors are really cheap and tasty. As for Thai milk tea, my friends drank it every day when we were in Thailand.
刪除I was so surprised when you said you were already in Thailand at the first day of the Spring break. The vendor's pictures you posted in the article reminded me of my hometown, we have a lot of vendors on the street, too. I thought Thailand is super hot at this time of the year but I bet it was a wonderful trip!

刪除I’ve wanted to travel to Thailand with my friends for a long time. However, I’m wondering that whether having a self-help trip in Thailand would not be as easy as in other country, like HK or JP? For example, can we communicate with them in English? Moreover, is the transportation system convenient? I would be grateful if you can answer my questions. :P
回覆刪除It is not so difficult to have a self-help trip in Thailand. However, you have to be more careful compared with traveling in HK or JP.
刪除Since lots of foreigners like to take a trip to Thailand, especially Bangkok, more or less, Thai people understand simple English. Moreover, because of many Chinese people living in Bangkok, it is common to see Chinese there.
